Take Intro. to Journalism and you’ll understand the media better. You’ll be able to follow the news and why it’s being presented the way it is. This is a great class for communication studies majors, political science junkies and journalists in the making. If you’re pre-law, this is the class for you.

You’ll improve your critical thinking skills, understand how the media works and improve your writing–all in this one class!

The course is available and taught by professional (current or former) journalists on all three campus and online.

Here’s the official course description: An introduction to the fundamentals of journalism and mass communication including advertising and public relations. The course will look at the changing industry and career trends. The course explores media literacy and communications theories through print and electonic media. Writing focuses on generally accepted news writing principles. PREREQUISITE: A grade of C or better in ENGL 101 or ENGL 101A or consent of department.
